My lid temp is always hotter which makes sense being that's it's higher up. Mines always 30-40F hotter at the lid on my weber kettle

Yes I'd have thought that but my lid thermometer is consistently lower. I might replace it with one of the Man Law thermometers I read of on another post.

My weber kettle is always hotter than what my maverick is reading, but the WSM lid thermometer is always lower.

I find that mine is only about 10C out at low temp but about 50 at higher temp.
I wouldn't bother buy a new lid thermo they are only there to plug the little hole anyways. Lol.

I'm sure I've seen it before but can't find it. I went to use my maverick 733 last night and the battery in the receiver was dead. I've not even used it yet , just turned it on for a play and off again. ISTR this is a know issue? Thanks.
