Hi from East London

Hi,

Avid 57cm Weber Kettle owner for many years but mostly direct grilling.

Bought a 57cm WSM earlier this year. It's an intimidating beast but gradually getting to grips with it.

Discovered the art of using indirect heat on the Kettle after doing a lot of internet browsing on how to use the WSM (better late than never..) so mostly had fun with that this year, making up for lost time.

First full packer on WSM went pretty well recently.

Inspired by the Grillstock festival in Walthamstow this year.

Welcome - and glad you enjoyed Grillstock at Walthamstow.
Did you get into the competition area at all?

Hi all.

Have enjoyed BBQ food for some time but never had any experience of making it beyond the usual poor quality burgers and sausages in summer. Thought i'd reply to this thread rather than starting a new one as the stories are pretty similar. Went to Grillstock in Walthamstow this summer ,which was a stone's throw from my house, and had a blast so started looking into having a go myself. Christmas rolls around and my mum and dad bought me and the Mrs a WSM 37cm.

I was looking for some wood chunks and discovered Paul Goulden's site, where he recommended you guys so thought I'd sign up. I'm starting from zero knowledge so I'm sure I could learn a lot from people here.

Welcome both of you, use the search function, most of the info is available somewhere. Then start asking questions.
