Weber cold smoker

Post by essexsmoker »

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has heard about or tried the weber cold smoking unit? It's only £23 to £25.

Have been looking at the proq cold smoker basket thingy, but that is another tenner, so if the weber one is just as good...

Thanks.

Haven't used the weber one. I have a pro q one that I use in my weber and it is very good. Came with great little book and sawdust as well.

This is the package I went for...didn't realise it was over £50.
The dust lasted a long time though and the book has been and continues to be a great source of info.

Is that the bigger one or the small one? Basket that is.

Not too worried about the dust to be honest as i have an entire dustbin bag full of oak from a friend.

Not sure. I get plenty time off it. Not done a really long smoke for a while but I think I got 12 hours off it when last I did.

Sounds promising. I think they do a small one and big one?

I have the smaller ProQ, works very well for cold smokes.

You get 10 to 12 hours of smoke pretty easily.

Great for smoked salmon!

Very easy buy. Never used them before but would defo use them again.
