Hi. Have my eye on a weber go anywhere gas. Only ever used charcoal smokey joes on trips before but thinking the convenience of gas might be good sometimes and I'm off to a festival this year where charcoal won't be an option but I think I can get away with a portable gas bbq.
Anyone have any experience and in particular what sort of burn time can you get out of the standard weber gas canister (450g-ish) and what the results are like using foiled wood chips? My Google-Fu had yielded little in this regard.
Obviously not looking at a 12 hours true low and slow cook but would be good to have the option of say a 3 hours smokey slow roast.

Re: Portable gas bbq
No experience of the Weber but loved my Cadac Carry chef deluxe, it came with a skottle Braii which was somewhere between a wok and a paella pan, excellent on many camping holidays......

Re: Portable gas bbq
Was using my dad's cadac at the weekend as it happens. Decent results although it only seemed to cook at nuclear temperatures even when turned low. Did shoulder of lamb one night using the roasting pan and some chicken joints on the bbq plate another. The skittles hasn't even made out of of the box yet. There's a ridiculous number of accessories which is fine if they're in a shed but daft for traveling with.
No one ever used a weber go anywhere gas then?

Cadac BBQs are very popular because they are portable and versatile.
