Smokey like pulled pork? No. Never had one that was that smokey from any wood fired oven. The point of the uuni is the 500c+ temperatures, portability, and relative low cost for a "wood" fired oven. There is a flavour difference too - but not pronounced.

Because the wood is burning at such a high temperature there's not as much smoke. Also, the pizza isn't in there long enough to absorb much of the smoke.

Oh OK, so it's more of a temperature thing?
Could you not get that from lumpwood?
