Wood - druidswood.co.uk

Post by SmokeShack »

Just ordered a selection of Hickory; Olive; Mesquite and Pecan from DruidsWood.

Has anybody got any experience of this site?

Know of any others offering a similar range?

Thanks

Derek

Not heard of then before but they have the largest selection I have seen this side of the Atlantic on the Internet. Lots of folks on here use Goulden's which are supposed to be good but only supply native species. This may be the go to place for the more exotic species. Nice find

JS - Why wouldn't they be great for some smokers?

Unless, obviously, they use something other than logs (don't know much about superiors) ?

they use logs where as my superiiors need chunks and too much bark to chop up. beautiful flavours though and great service from this company

Yep, I've had some hickory from them before only downside I can think of is that they come in logs that require further cutting - apart from that nothing negative!

they're a bit dear on their slices. £10 for a kilo.

Garden and leisure sell weber chunks £8 for 2.2kg
