Beef shank

Good old British Beef, you can't beat it! Of course Brisket is the American BBQ favorite but recipes for any cut are welcome here.

Beef shank

Post by Vic. »

Bought a beef shank yesterday from the butchers, its 5 kg, the only thing I've used shank cutlets for in the past is for making soup, i love the taste of the meat. I'm planning on smoking the whole shank and keeping the drippings and marrow for soup. How long do you think it would need cooked for?

I'll post some pics when its defrosted and ready to go

I haven't cooked a shank on the BBQ, i would guess it would be low and slow and that the bone would aid in the cooking process.
