Sushi is another excellent lunch. As you say, it seems to be extremely satisfying.

The other thing I've done recently is take a load of old clothes to the charity shop. I know that even though I haven't managed to get into them for years, the moment I give them away, I will drop a trouser size or two - sod's law.

Cheers,it hasn't been solely to the special k thing, I have cut out beer and bread and generally tried to eat more healthily, now I know man can live on beer n bread alone and i have existed pretty much on this for the last 14 years, but this new thing seems have done the job. Believe it or not I was nearly 18st in mid May... and I used to be an Army Physical Training Instructor.

I decided enough was enough and that remedial action was needed so I can continue to love BBQ n beer with out being the size of a house. I would like to get down to 13 1/2 or 14 st I am currently at 15.12 and dropping an average of a 1lb per day at present. It will hiccup at the competitions but I know this and will aim off.

I fear as a moderator though I should delete this thread!

Chris, how long did it take you to cook your burgers ( estimating them at 1/4lb)....the same as the sausages?

On that occasion, I cooked both the burgers and sausages on smoke for about 2 hours. It meant I didn't have to hover over them flipping, which meant we could carry on playing games up to the moment I said "ok, grubs ready".

On other occassions, I have simply grilled burgers on high, and they've cooked in about 10-12 mins. Of course, getting the grill nice and hot first, probably takes about 20 minutes.
