WSM Price war?
Hi guys,
Wasn't sure if anyone else had noticed this yet or not - WSM 18.5" for £251.10 or WSM 22.5" for £332.10.
I only found this as I was price matching the 57cm OT Premium, chimney starter and weber thermometer with GoOutdoors - this matches and discounts by 10%. So my reckoning would be around £130 for the OT Premium, £13.50 for a chimney starter. My matching was against the WOWBBQ website.
But then I saw that both WOWBBQ and Garden4Less websites were doing the WSMs at the above prices.
I'm getting sign off from the Chancellor as we speak.
I don't want to break any rules by posting links but thought it was worth letting the membership know!

Re: WSM Price war?
Any good argument why I should go for the smaller of the two guys?
I am worried that if I go for the bigger of the two it will do nithing but eat charcoal, when we only need to feed a family of four (and two of them are under 5!)

You'll get as many say 47 as 57 on here I think. Personally I have the 47cm and it's easily fed 12 and would go to 20 if needed.

Sounds like the 47cm will do you fine burnsie.
On Friday I fed 7 adults with beer can chicken and ribs and on Sunday fed 11 adults and 3 children with ribs and a pork loin on the smoker, supplimented with burgers and sausages on the cheapie grill and there was leftovers.
I bought my 47cm WSM about 3 weeks ago and was told the larger one burns more charcoal and is harder to control the heat. I am finding my baby real easy to control and more than adequate in size for my usual needs.
Another wee tip I have picked up here is to keep the longest victim warm for 2, 3 or even more hours using the cooler method and use that time to do chicken halves, when you have a big crowd round.
Good luck.

I have both and would recommend the 47cm, it will more than meet the needs of a family of four carnivores.
Plus if you do need extra capacity Macs BBQ do a WSM stacker at a very reasonable price.
Cheers

All,
Really appreciate all your replies.
So I have done it, the order is in for the 47. At £250 for the Q everyone seems to recommend and own, it would have hurt to miss out.
So should be with my by the weekend and I can't wait!

Enjoy it and don't forget to do a first burn, to burn off any factory remains.
My first lesson from here.
I ordered on a Wednesday afternoon and was gobsmacked it arrived Friday morning (I'm in Northern Ireland) and jumped on here, all excited, for recommendations for my first smoke and it was suggested I do a burn.
Some say it isn't necessary or there would be a big red warning sticker on it but it can't do any harm, gives you a chance to play around with temp control and it extends the excitement by a day.

Noticed the price drop as well so I've treated myself to a 57cm WSM and a 67cm OTP, about time I upgraded with some shiny new kit, hopefully arrive tomorrow then the fun begins......
