Not particularly close, but not a million miles away is Moens at Clapham Common. One of the best butchers in the country - although not cheap. They'll do pretty much anything for you if you ask nicely.

For my first Pork Butt I used:

T Marlow Butchers
105, Beaver Lane, Ashford, Kent TN23 5NU

Found them very helpfull and reasonably priced.

I've also had Ribs from Costco at Lakeside but they didn't have a lot of meat on them, we have had their Steaks in the past which were very nice but price wise they now seem a bit expensive for a wholesale supplier.

My local, and far and away the most amazing butcher shop I've ever had the pleasure of shopping at.

I tell my girlfriend that walking by there and looking into the window is like looking at meat pornography, looks amazing, wide selection of seasonal produce and fantastic service!

Love it!

Say Hi to Gary for me next time you're in there....... I used to live just round the corner....

And of course for fresh fish - there's Moxons at Clapham South.

I am in Clapham quite often of a weekend so I will have to give them a go. I think I know the place you mean. Sounds like they've got the right idea.

J Andrews Family Butchers
81 Burnt Ash Lane, Bromley
Bromley, BR1 5AA
Telephone

This is the place I use as it's only a 5min walk from my house, but he was very helpful in sorting me out a pork butt, just asked for a whole shoulder or pork, as well as a full rack of back ribs. Pretty reasonable as well, as far as I can tell, especially as supermarkets here don't seem to stock very good meats at all!

Popped in to Bryan Turners today, got 8 huge chicken thighs for a good price. Seems like a nice bloke too, I think I'm going to visit him more often.
