BBQ with lava rocks

Hi
First post, need advice please.
I'm trying to find a new BBQ which uses lava rocks without spending £400.
Can anyone point me in the right direction-OR can most BBQs be converted to take a rack for lava rocks or briquettes,maybe by removing the burner covers? I can make a rack.
