Brisket and lamb shoulder on new GMG Daniel Boone

Post by crphillips »

Took receipt of a Daniel Boone the other week for use as a demo model. Currently cooking a brisket and lamb shoulder and it's looking stunning. Really impressed with the built in meat probe. Temp control is far more advanced over my Treager too.

First time I haven't foiled a brisket too...it's looking nice and juicy though so not going to bother. Can't wait for tea!

Looks like a great bit of kit for the serious BBQ smoker...............do you get a free "coonskin cap"? Probably not as you wouldn't get a Bowier knife with the other

Hehe.....done several cooks now and they've been great. Really like being able to alter the temp by 1°C at a time!

The shoulder of lamb was lovely too. Definately going to cook a lot more lamb. It went down well.

Going to put the Traeger Texas on eBay if anyone is interested in one. Only been used for 6 months or so.

I think that it was Davy Crocket who wore the coon skin cap. Wonder what ol' Daniel would say about a pellet smoker? I bet he would compare the fuel to something the deer left on the trail.
