Another 1st Fattie

Post by Saucy Pig »

Been wanting to try this ever since I got my first smoker but never got round to it till last week. Now we both wish we'd tried it sooner. It was real easy to make and tasted fantastic.

Started off with a bacon weave. This was loads of fun. I finally had an excuse to play with my food.

We made our own breakfast sausage. Added cooked onions, shredded potatoes and peppers to the middle of it and wrapped it up.

Ready for the smoker

Only me and the wife eating so it was kind of a skinny fattie to be honest.

325° for 1hr 15mins. Up to 350° for 15 minutes to crisp up the bacon

Cooked the left over potatoes, peppers and onions into a crispy hash and added a few beers. Tasted as good as it looked.

Like I said wish we'd done this ages ago and will be up for trying some of the other fillings I've seen mentioned.

Looks great, fatties are a winner, although I was pretty fearful of Steves hotter than hell version!
