Can I use this wood for smoking?
Hi, I seen a local advert that read "Seasoned hardwood apple tree logs for sale". Is this the same apple wood that people use to smoke things? and can I use it in my smoker?

Absolutely. If I know someone who is having a apple tree chopped down or pruned I always ask for a bit.

Thanks Si and Robin. I think I'll order a wee bag! He's doing big fertiliser bags full for £4 or a half a tonne of it for £55!
Will need to get my axe sharpened up to chip the logs!

Buy half ton, make profit! That's a great deal. I've got a few large apple logs I could do with cutting up

Thanks
Will cut/prune some 1,1/2" to 2" pranches and set them aside for a few months to dry/season a bit.

I went out on Friday evening and got some. He had none of the fertiliser bags left so I just grabbed a handful of logs. They're nice and dry so I just needs to chip them now!
We're in Northern Ireland, so not sure if he'd be up for shipping the logs? But here's the advert:
