Weber Smokey Joe £49.99 in TK Maxx

Post by DJBenz »

Saw these tonight in my local, guess they're stock for the summer. Marked at RRP of £79.99, but priced at £49.99

Might be of use if anyone is in the market for one. Also had a couple of Bodum ones, a cone-shaped one and a mini-kettle type thing.

Webber are obviously having a run on them as a quick Google search shows at least nine other retailers all at or around the £45-50 mark. May have to splash out :D

Take a look at the jumbo joe as well, not just as compact as the smokey joe but has (IMHO) much better vent configuration which will allow more control if you ever try to roast anything. I've smoked full chickens in the smokey joe before but made a grate for it to sit on. I need to do something similar with the go anywhere.

The smokey joe has the bottom air vents above the coals which doesnt give as good control and also burns slightly cooler, again, I modified my smokey joe to have bottom air vents as well, similar to the original smokey joe silver (which is no longer available in the UK)

I got the smokey joe this time last year as an ex display one (they now only stock the premium model) for £29.99.
