Hi from Darkest Sussex

Post by mattbrx »

Hello.
I've loved reading posts on here for a while and at last I've managed to persuade 'the boss' that cooking and eating al fresco is the way forward. I've been a user of various trusty charcoal grills - some with lids and some without - over many years and want to have something a bit more robust and permanent.
So I've managed to earmark around 3m of garden upon which I'm going to build a Wood Burning Oven, with a charcoal BBQ grill next to it. Funds are a little tight, but I'm keen to have something that looks good - but more importantly works well and cooks great.
I've never done anything like this before, so it shoudl be a good fun autumn project... Looks like I'll be asking for advice a fair bit :)

Thanks :)
I've laid the concrete foundations - which have now cured properly. The WBO plans are finalised (almost), but I just need to decide on the Grill before I start ordering bricks...
