Thermometor I just got.

Post by paulandabbi2013 »

I just brought this and have tested it in boiling water with a 1 degree difference in the two probes!!! Its a double probe so seemed perfect and it costs just under £15!

Probe A read 212.6F and Probe B read 213.4F when tested.

Here is a link....

The probes appear to have plastic on them?

Have to wonder what they were thinking. Built in obsolescence? Those temps would not be terribly useful in an oven.

Quite agree, I had had Salter probes before and they were all metal and my oven only goes to 250c and it read that okay. I can't see the point of having insertion probes that can't stand really high temps.

According to the listing "Temp range from 16°F to 302°F or -9°C to 150°C". :D

They aren't perfect but for £15 they are ok. I only need them to monitor temp at both ends of offset and check temp of meat so will be fine. They won't be used for the oven :)

I won't need them to with stand massively high temps so hopefully should be ok. I got them as money is tight and they should do the job I need. :)
