Cuban BBQ

Post by smitty »

Just a few pics from a recent holiday to Cuba, we were walking back from the beach and smell just hit you, it was amazing we didn't know they were doing a bbq so we were lucky we walked back when we did, the pork was served with black eyed beans, rice and loads of salad, and it was fantastic :P

Was there any rub/sauce, or was this 'just' roast pork?

Should be pretty authentic barbecue in its own way - the heritage goes right back to the original Arawak 'barbacoa' idea of cooking a whole pig slowly over an open fire.

My mouth is watering just looking at those pics.

We arrived just as they were getting ready to serve so I didn't see them basting it, but it did have a slight bit of heat to it, so I imagine it had some seasoning, but it was very good cant beat a hog roast
