Thanks - as luck would have it I've ended up with Heat Beads and Big K (non-restaurant grade) lumpwood as my two fuels of choice. Good to know that I'm not using duffers! I will give the restaurant grade stuff a go at some stage soon though.

Big K Resturant Grade just has bigger lumps really. As a rule, I would reccomend feeling around bags if lumpwood before you buy them, and only buyong them if you can feel some good, big chunks, as you dont want to end up buying a bag of charcoal dust.

Thanks - that's good advice. I generally buy a few bags early on in the season as they haven't been manhandled quite so much. The current bag I've got has pretty respectable lumps in it so am quite happy.LetItSmoke wrote:Big K Resturant Grade just has bigger lumps really.
